I had considered putting up a spoiler alert ahead of today’s page, but then it dawned on me that unless you’ve been in a coma for the last 2 weeks, you know which one of the Fantastic Four bought it in the recent ‘Three’ arc.
(A side note to those of you who have been in a coma for the last 2 weeks: Welcome back. Nothing much has changed except you may want to postpone that trip to Egypt for a while.)
No sooner had we learned of Johnny’s fate than the community at large began to place bets on how long will it take before he returned from ‘death’. From there, my train of thought quickly led me to list the names of Marvel characters who have remained deceased.
Poor, poor Uncle Ben.
Only time will tell if The Human Torch remains in the after world, but the safe bet would see him returning within the next few years.
Today’s page was done by Sean Izaakse:
Sean Izaakse started reading comics and drawing when he was around 3 years old, when an issue of Spider-Man caught his attention. With the loving support of his parents, it has been his entire life’s goal to become a pro comic artist. He believes that whether one is doing work for one of the big companies like Marvel or DC Comics, or putting some creator-owned work into reader’s hands’ doesn’t matter, the goal is to do what you love and be able to live comfortably while doing so. Sean has contributed to Insurrection Studio’s Clockworx comic and was featured in the Comics Brew Outline comic, as well as some local work for companies doing corporate comics. Sean is hoping to release his first creator-owned work in 2011.
Before I sign off for the day, I wanted to welcome Rus Wooton to the Gutters team. Beginning last week, Rus has taken over the lettering duties and will keep doing so until the very end of time (I should probably have him sign a contract).
If you’re not familiar with his name, believe me when I say you’re familiar with his work. Among others, Rus letters The Walking Dead and Invincible over at Image.
We’re lucky to have him, and on a personal note, it’s nice to have one more person to blame when things go wrong.
We’ll see you on Wednesday, folks.
