Before we get to today’s fun and games, I want to let you folks in the Ottawa area know that we will be attending the Ottawa Comic Con this weekend! That’s right, Lar, Sohmer, Stone, Will and even me, will be occupying Booths D240-241. That’s right, we’re so awesome we’re double wide! We’ll have all the Gutters gear and gab that you so greatly desire and a sneak peak at the Least I Could Do animated pilot on Saturday! It’s going to be a blast, so do stop by if you’re in the area won’t you?
As for now though, Ah Fandom. We are an interesting bunch, are we not? I do however feel that these particular traits aren’t just limited to comics or “geek” fans. Everyone’s got their fandom be it sports or movies or even opera or ballet. It really is our similarities that keep us together and tear us apart.
Whoa, that was deep. Must be the exhaust fumes from the garbage truck in front of us on the highway.
Anyway, as we speed towards the bustling metropolis of Ottawa, today’s page comes to us from writer Paul Allor:
Paul Allor is a comic-book writer, letterer and editor based in Indiana. His credits include Orc Girl with artist Thomas Boatwright,Clockwork with various artists, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fugitoid, for IDW Publishing, and the forthcoming Strange Nation, a mini-series with artist Juan Romera. He is also on staff at Andy Schmidt’s Comics Experience, where he provides script critiques and manages the book club. You can follow Paul at www.paulallor.com or on Twitter at @PaulAllor.
And artists (and possible relations) Tony and Allen Jackson:
T-Bone and Aljax are 2/3 of identical triplet brothers from Shillington, Pennsylvania, and have been working together since the day they were born. While most of their professional careers deals with designing posters and album covers for entertainers and the entertainment industry, they create motion graphics for television/ web based series, commercials, and film as well. They have recently been published in Gig Posters Vol II from Quirk Books and “Rock Poster Art” from Eyrolles in Paris, France, and have designed and illustrated for countless musicians such as My Morning Jacket, Elvis Costello, Queens of the Stone Age, Duran Duran, and Elton John, to comedians such as Conan O’Brien, Jim Gaffigan, and Donald Glover to name a few. The brothers hope to one day be cast as three bad-ass gun wielding brothers in a Tarantino / Rodriguez flick.
Have a great weekend, friends! See you back here Monday!
