Sometimes things happen in comics that I find hard to believe, even for an industry like this.
As I’m sure you’ve heard, Rob Liefeld wrote a movie. About Rob Liefeld. Actually, it’s about the founding of Image comics and based on the excerpts that have surfaced, it’s main characters are Todd MacFarlane and Eazy-E. In fact, Liefeld himself comes off kinda naive in the treatment, but I digress.
First of all, I just want to say for the record that I don’t like to discourage anyone from expressing themselves artistically. Everyone needs an outlet of creativity and who am I to say what it should be?
But seriously… Really, bro? Without reading the full script (Because who knows? There could be lots of boobs and explosions!) I gotta say that I can’t think of a more boring premise for a movie and I sat through Meet Joe Black. Also, I gotta say, the one who comes out looking the worst in all these pages is MacFarlane. Though, I do agree with Liefeld’s casting choices. I’d love to see Christian Bale do this movie in the Batman voice.
Also, I’m pretty sure that Rob deserves a specaial Oscar for most use of the term “Bro” in a three-page scene.
In closing I only have one thing to say about Icons: Kickstarter, bro. Kickstarter.
Today’s page comes to us from your bro and mine, Guy Allen!
Guy Allen is an illustrator and designer working professionally in the field for over 4 years. A graduate of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI, Guy majored in Illustration, while simultaneously having “on the side” relationships with Industrial and Graphic Design. Guys past work can be seen in many places including print, web and too many commercials to count; from automotive to baked beans commercials , Guy has done them all and has a client list to prove it.
In closing, thanks so much for being patient with us while we figure out the server thing, folks. The team is working around the clock to get everything back to normal and this time we are totally going to duct tape that plug into the wall so no one can trip over it any more.
See you back here Friday!
