Before we begin, let me remind you that at this very moment, Sohmer, Lar, Becker, Will, Stone et al are in Toronto for Fan Expo Canada! They have all the Gutters books, lanyards and mousepads any human can carry, and yours truly will be joining them at Booth #1342 underBlind Ferret Entertainment, and we’ll be there all weekend. Come find us using this handy little map!
Now, as for today’s page, what lies before you is a scene that I expect, nay, I know will play out in comic shops all across the world next week, my own included. But you know what? I’m looking forward to it.
It’s every person on the internet’s God-Given right to judge the proverbial (and in this case actual) book by it’s cover, but I honestly hope against hope that maybe, just maybe, once a book or two is read that some folks might be pleasantly surprised with what they find.
I don’t know if any of these books are going to be any good. I have the same internet y’all do, so I’ve seen the same art, covers and hype that you have. But I hold out hope that amongst the 52 will be some really good stuff to balance out the presumed awful stuff.
Either way, it’s going to be a helluva trip.
In the meantime, today’s foreshadowing page has been brought to us courtesy of Ian Navarro:
Ian Navarro is an aspiring comic book artist, born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Currently, Ian is working as a freelance artist and illustrator. He attended the Alberta College of Art and Design, majoring in visual communications.
Also, local retailers are working their asses off to have parties, sales and all kinds of promotional events to go along with The New 52, so you should get in touch with your local comic shop and see what they’ve got in store!
Have a good weekend, and see you in Toronto!
