or a company called Idea & Design works, I have to say I haven’t super impressed with the ideas coming out of IDW lately. Seeing as they’ve been going the licensing route, I suppose that’s unsurprising.
Despite that, I think a Star Trek comic set in the same timeline as the JJ Abrams’ movie will probably be received quite well, if they can keep the tone of the movie. We’ll see how well these movie scribes do in the comic world.
That said, as long as there’s a lens flare in every panel, it should feel authentic.
Today’s LENS FLARE page was done by Mike Collins:
Mike Collins has been creating comics for over 25 years, working for Marvel, DC, 2000AD and a whole host of other publishers. In that time heís written or drawn pretty much all the major characters for each company- Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Flash, Teen Titans, X-Men, Captain Britain, Judge Dredd, Darkstars, Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt and more. He recently garnered an unlikely amount of publicity for drawing a comic based on the Royal Wedding, which -through a bizarre series of events- led him to cover the actual proceedings as a reporter for Dutch TV. No, really. Best known as an artist on the UK Doctor Who comic strip, he also storyboards for TV and films, including the recent Warhammer 40K film, and Horrid Henry. He also draws a series of noirish crime fiction graphic novels “Varg Veum” in Norse. He is World Famous in Norway. He lives in Cardiff, Wales and his studio is a short walk away from The Rift. He has a wife, three daughters, two cats and is an enthusiastic yet inept dancer.
Have a great weekend, folks, we’ll see you back here on Monday.
