For the most part, when politics meet comics, nothing good will emerge.
The last week or so has seen a war of words between author Neil Gaiman and Minnesota state legislator Matt Dean.
Dean was quoted as calling Gaiman a “pencil-necked little weasel who stole $45,000 from the state of Minnesota”. If one were to take a look at this story (I’ve provided a few links below), it’s rather easy to deduce that perhaps Dean should have followed his mother’s advice and thought before he spoke.
Or, not spoken at all.
Still, I felt a Rebuttal on behalf of Gaiman was necessary.
Today’s strongly stated page was done by David Namisato:
David Namisato is an illustrator in Toronto, Canada.David’s recent projects include the children’s picture book “Fly Catcher Boy” from Gumboot Books, the comic series “Gabe and Allie in Race Through Time” for Kayak: Canada’s History Magazine for Kids, covers and illustrations for YES Magazine and KNOW Magazine, sketch cards for 5FINITY Productions, and work on Moonstone Books’ “Zombies vs Cheerleaders” comics.
David also has a web comic about teaching English in Japan called “Life After the B.O.E.”
David isn’t much of a morning person, but when he does wake up, he is happy because he gets to spend the day drawing.
Have a good one, folks, perhaps we’ll see you on Friday?
