Bill Willingham and his crew are behind one of my favorite series, Vertigo’s Fables. Seeing as they’re celebrating their 100th issue, there simply was no way I could let it pass without joining in, with our version of their anniversary cover.
If you don’t get the humor, however, you need to pickup a few of the trades and get caught up. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
100 issues in, and the story and cast are still as interesting as they were in Issue 1.
Today’s gorgeous page was done by one of my favorite artists to work with, Mr Ryan Lee:
Ryan Lee is a freelance illustrator/designer diligently working out of his home studio surrounded by foxes and spiders in Northwestern Michigan. Since his graduation from the College for Creative Studies in 1999, he has been steadily working in various creative mediums including (but not limited to) illustration, advertising, graphic design, character design, fine art painting, and storyboards. Most recently, Ryan has refocused his work efforts on the comic book industry, a passion of his since he first picked up a pen as a child.
Ed, our resident color champion, should also be commended on the incredible job he did.
Have a great weekend, folks, and we’ll see you back here on Monday.
