Having just touched down from Gen Con, it isn’t hard to think of a few things wrong with today’s ComiCon/Comic Con/Comic-Con culture. Cons as events have come a long way and the vibe has changed in both good an bad ways over the years, but I think it’s safe to say that there is still a long way to go.
So, when I saw that San Diego and Salt Lake City were engaged in an absoutely ridiculous battle over the hypen in Comic-Con… well, it’s good to know all those other issues have been solved.
Look, I understand the concept of having to protect intellectual propery and copyrights. But after taking a look at this, I think it’s probably ok to assume that this has become a personal nerd pissing contest and that’s about it.
Let’s all just relax, maybe, yeah? Because as indicated above, the likelyhood of someone going or not going to a major comic even because they think it’s another major comic event is about a likely as there being mass acceptance of The Prequels.
The last part though… that’s all us.
Today’s 100% untrue page comes to us from Christian Meesey:
Christian “Meesimo” Meesey is a mild mannered Caricature artist by day. But when night falls, he unleashes upon the world a slightly less mild mannered comic book artist, with more blogs than one human should have. He is a Leo, and enjoys Coen Brothers movies and the musical storytelling of Tom Waits.
Be good, friends! See you back here soon!
