Sure, it might seem childish, but you know what? We’re just gonna come right out and say it: Scott and Steve totally look like they are about to kiss on the cover of New Avengers #24.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course.
In fact, it would probably be the absolute boldest move in comics I’ve ever seen and leave a great many people scratching their heads wondering what the hell just happened.
But I’m afraid the Slash/Fic community would never recover and as everyone knows, they are a very powerful lobby so I don’t think Marvel is ready to make that move quite yet.
On a more serious note (well, as serious as we can get about this kind of thing), one of the more interesting aspects of this AvX marketing campaign is that with each new round out of Marvel, Wolverine seems to be on a different side.
I’m sure there’s a “switching teams” joke in there somewhere, but for now I’m genuinely curious about which side he’ll fall on in the coming melee.
Today’s page comes to us from the man with the greatest name in comics, Gibson Quarter:
Gibson Quarter is comic book artist best known for his illustration work on ëWar on Drugsí strips with writer Alan Grant in the European magazine WASTED. In North America, Gibson is a regular artist on the ‘Organ Grinder’ stories in UNDERTOW from 7th Wave Comics. He’s also drawn stories for Holmes Inc. (issue #1 and 2) and Undertow #1. He has also illustrated numerous other European magazines and comics: Northern Lightz, FutureQuake, Something Wicked, as well as Zarjaz and Dogbreath. Gibson lives in Toronto, and his biggest professional challenge is keeping his determined cat off the drawing board while he’s working!
Have a good weekend, my friends! See you back here Monday!
