Well, Millar Has One...
I've mentioned in this space before that I think the world needs more comic conventions the way it needs more Miley Cyrus albums. The announcement of an "Image Con" didn't really excite me, but MorrisonCon is actually somewhat intriguing.
While few details have been announced (the date and location, for example) the idea of smaller, boutique-style conventions is really appealing to me. I'd love to go to more shows where the focus is more on the stories and creators as opposed to the spectacle of it all. Don't get me wrong, spectale is lots of fun, but when it comes to someone like Morrison, I'd much rather attend something like this than spend 30 seconds at a table after an hour of waiting to get a quick signature and move on.
That said, I still have a few questions about MorrisonCon:
Will the show feature only obscure silver-age guests that I'll need to Wikipedia before attending?
Can I assume that My Chemical Romance will be playing at some point over the weekend?
Will Grant himself show up on time, or will he be at another, longer convention meant to wrap up everything that was supposed to be addressed in the preceeding convention(s)?
Also, will Lou Ferrigno and The Honky Tonk Man be in attendance? Because it's just not a 'con without them!
Today's page was delivered by the lovely Ali Thome:
Ali R. Thome, currently occupying space in Pennsylvania, started her art career as a caricature artist 3 years ago. In the past year she has quickly expanded her enterprise into illustration and more recently, the world of comics. Most of her work thus far has been done privately through commission work, but lately she has made a name for herself in the caricature world through her work at the International Society of Caricature Artist Convention. Lately her focus has shifted to illustration and comics working with Right After Then Design on their projects as well as tackling personal comic endeavours.
Enjoy the start to the week, folks! We'll see you back here on Wednesday!
