I get in trouble for saying this almost every week on my radio show, but if you are looking for a comics company who are pushing the boundaries of their comfort zone addressing current and modern issues smartly and timely, look no further than Archie Comics.
While they might not have gone as far as today’s page, from the introduction of Kevin Keller, to their recently announced digital Superhero line, Archie comics is doing everything they can to be relavent in today’s comics industry. In fact, it could be argued that in a lot of ways they are one step ahead of other, “bigger” comics companies.
Also, a fine working relationship with The Demon & Co probably doesn’t hurt either.
Today’s itchy pages came to us by way of Florida, and Krishna Sadasivam:
Krishna Sadasivam serves as a full-time design instructor within the Media Arts and Animation department at the Art Institute of Tampa. When he’s not busy teaching, he spends a considerable amount of time as a professional cartoonist / illustrator. He’s been making webcomics since 1998. Krishna’s biggest achievement to date is having his first webcomic book, PC Weenies: Rebootus Maximus, travel, by way of readers, to all 7 continents, from the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the chilly depths of Antarctica!
It occurs to me I’ve signed off a lot of these posts with warnings about not catching things, so I’ll just say have a good weekend. See you here Monday!
